Join Medical Protection’s Senior Medical Educator, Dr Sarah Coope for this recorded one-hour essential communication skills webinar focused on increasing clinician confidence and competence in managing difficult interactions with colleagues. The webinar explores common themes about how and why professional disagreements occur and the impact these can have on self, others and patients.

Dr Coope shares a step-by-step approach medical practitioners can use to develop communication strategies and skills to respond constructively and respectfully to help facilitate agreed patient-centred outcomes with colleagues.

Dr Coope is joined by Dr Justin Cheng, Medicolegal Consultant, Medical Protection.

Dr Sarah Coope
Dr Sarah Coope is a Senior Medical Educator with Medical Protection.

Dr Coope graduated from Edinburgh University in 1998 and completed her GP training in East Yorkshire where she worked as a partner until 2014. Following this, she combined GP work with CCG and medical education roles, gaining experience as a trainer, specialising in a wide range of communication skills and leadership aspects in different clinical settings.

Dr Coope has completed qualifications in coaching, mentoring and mediation and joined Medical Protection in 2020.

Dr Justin Cheng
Dr Justin Cheng is a Medicolegal Consultant with Medical Protection.

Dr Cheng is an experienced doctor who has developed a wealth of knowledge about risk prevention. For the past 10 years, Dr Cheng has been an educational presenter in Hong Kong for Medical Protection’s Risk Prevention Education Faculty. He has also co-authored the HKMA/MPS Risk Management Handbook.

Dr Cheng joined Medical Protection as a Medicolegal Consultant in July 2020 and is dedicated to supporting members and protecting the interests of healthcare professionals in Hong Kong. As well as being a first point of contact for members, he will provide expert assistance in member cases. Dr Cheng has worked extensively in medical groups and he will continue to practice part-time while supporting the profession in his new role.
