Introducing our medicolegal team

Dr Bobby Nicholas MB BCh BAO MRCGP MA 
Medicolegal and Dentolegal Team Leader 

Bobby completed his medical degree at Queen’s University Belfast and has a Master’s in Medical Law from King’s College London. He is a qualified General Practitioner and was previously the Clinical Lead for a large GP out-of-hours service. 

He joined Medical Protection in 2014 and is now a Medicolegal Consultant Team Leader in a role combining technical and operational responsibilities. 


Mohamed Sidek2
Dr Mohamed Faruqi Uzair bin Mohamed Sidek MBBS 
Medicolegal Consultant 

Uzair qualified with MBBS from the University of Malaya and is currently completing a postgraduate qualification (LLM) in Medical Law and Ethics. Before joining Medical Protection, he worked as a Senior Principal Assistant Director at the Ministry of Health Malaysia (Medico Legal Section, Medical Practice Division). 

He joined Medical Protection in 2020 as a Medicolegal Consultant for the Asia Team covering Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.  

 

Sara Sreih2
Dr Sara Sreih MBBS MRCPsych MSc PGDip DLM Dip(GRC) MICA 
Medicolegal Consultant 

Sara qualified with MBBS from University College London (UCL), having also obtained a BSc in Neuroscience and Basic Medical Sciences. She went on to train in psychiatry in West London, gaining membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and completed an MSc in Psychoanalytic Theoretical Studies. Before joining Medical Protection, she worked as a Postgraduate Medical Education and Clinical Risk Fellow and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education. She has since obtained the ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance and is currently studying an LLM in Medical Law. 

 

Katie Grant2
Dr Katie Grant BM(Hons) BSc(Hons) MA DLM FRCA 
Medicolegal Consultant 

Katie graduated from the University of Southampton with a Medical degree, specialising in anaesthesia. She subsequently completed a Diploma in Legal Medicine and a postgraduate qualification in Medical Law at King’s College London. Alongside her clinical work she sat as a medical panellist for the UK General Medical Council and as a lay panellist for the General Dental Council.  

She joined Medical Protection in 2014 first specialising in UK, then moving to Asia casework. She is responsible for assisting doctors with a wide range of medicolegal matters, participating in talks and educational activities, and taking the lead for training within the team. 


Jonathan Carr2
Jonathan Carr LLM 
Case Manager 

Jonathan graduated from Coventry University with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and has recently completed a postgraduate qualification in Legal Practice (LLM) at BPP University Law School.  

He joined Medical Protection in 2018 and is responsible for dealing with all non-claims medicolegal matters in Asia, including complaints, advice, reports, criminal matters and inquests. 

 

Ioanna2
Ioanna Mavrovounioti LLM 
Case Manager 

Ioanna studied Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and spent two years working as a trainee lawyer in a Greek law firm before completing a postgraduate qualification in Medical Law (LLM) at Queen Mary University of London. 

She joined Medical Protection in 2018 and is responsible for managing a caseload of medical and dental files in Asia, including complaints, advice, reports and inquests. 

 

Laura Bullas2
Laura Bullas BSc GDL 
Case Manager 

Laura graduated from the University of Law in London. 

She joined Medical Protection as a Medical Secretary in 2013 and, after completing her Law degree, was promoted to the role of Case Manager in 2018. Laura advises doctors and dentists in Asia on all non-claims cases, from complaints queries to complex regulatory and inquest cases. 

 

Sajida2
Sajida Tayub 
Case Management Assistant 

Sajida has worked in customer services and complaints throughout her career. 

She joined Medical Protection in 2018 and is responsible for assisting the Case Managers and Medicolegal Consultants with file management and day to day correspondence in relation to cases. She is a first point of contact for members as well as panel law firms and solicitors when they contact Medical Protection.
