MPS is the world’s leading protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals. We protect and support the professional interests of more than 290,000 members around the world. Our benefits include access to indemnity, expert advice and peace of mind. Our in-house experts assist with the wide range of legal and ethical problems that arise from professional practice. This includes clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Analyst to join our IT Operations department in a permanent role.

The purpose of this role is to ensure consistently high quality software releases of both in-house MPS software applications and their interfaces to other relevant 3rd party applications into the Live IT environment. This will be achieved through the successful scripting and execution of system and non-functional test scripts, as well as ensuring comprehensive User Acceptance Testing occurs.

The Test Analyst will be expected to prepare detailed written test strategy for all major testing streams undertaken and shall need to identify any risks associated with testing performed and communicate these to the relevant Project Managers.

Furthermore, the Test Analyst will execute system, performance, regression and non-functional test scripts as necessary against the software to be tested and will record all bugs found during the course of executing test scripts along with details of the circumstances leading up to the fault.

Importantly, the Test Analyst will have the confidence to decide when it is necessary to escalate a problem and which escalation path should be followed.

The ideal candidate will require good knowledge of SQL as this role will be working largely on the data warehouse part of a major project and so strong database knowledge is essential too.

Additionally, you will ideally be ISEB/ISTQB/ITIL Foundation Level Certified with a wide-range of testing skills (functional and non-functional) coupled with second-to-none communications skills as stakeholder management and working cross-functionally is a huge part of this role.

If you possess the above skills and are seeking your next Test Analyst opportunity in a complex and exciting environment, working as part of a great team, then we would like to hear from you.

The role is inclusive of an impressive starting salary, 12% employer contribution pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, an annual variable pay bonus scheme and boasts having a conveniently located Leeds city centre office.
