The Medical Protection Society Limited (“MPS”) is the world’s leading protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals. We protect and support the professional interests of more than 300,000 members around the world. Membership provides access to expert advice and support together with the right to request indemnity for any complaints or claims arising from professional practice.

Our in-house experts assist with the wide range of legal and ethical problems that arise from professional practice. This can include clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries.

We are looking to recruit a HR Business Partner to work alongside our Operations division, based in our Leeds office.

The Operations division includes a variety of departments which include our Claims and Strategic Change departments, through to our IT and Facilities teams. This role will also partner with our onsite Member Operations contact centre.

The purpose of this role is to define and implement the People strategy for Operations, as well as ensuring HR delivers a mixture of ‘hands-on’ operational support and strategy. This includes improving our talent bench strength and delivering various projects and change management initiatives

The successful HR Business Partner will work alongside senior stakeholders to improve their leadership capability and to facilitate a positive matrix management relationship across the organisation.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate previous experience of operating at a HR Business Partner level, ideally within a competitive commercial environment.

You will have the ability to deliver both operational and strategic objectives, alongside leading both HR and change management initiatives. You will also possess excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to work autonomously and ideally be CIPD/ degree qualified.
