Commenting on the GMC’s 2025 State of medical education and practice in the UK report, and concerns about the increasing number of IMGs leaving the UK -
Dr Rob Hendry, Chief Member Officer and Medical Director at Medical Protection Society (MPS), said:
“The GMC is right to raise alarm bells over the increasing number of international medical graduates leaving the UK. All doctors, regardless of where they qualified, make a significant contribution to the NHS and should feel recognised and valued. The need for the promised 10-Year Workforce Plan, to set out how healthcare staff will be retained, supported and developed is becoming ever more pressing.”
