Dr John Jolly
Head of Member Risk Education, Medical Protection

As Head of Member Risk Education, Dr John Jolly supports members and those with elevated risk. Part of his work involves recommending educational programmes to raise awareness and help protect against potential medicolegal and dentolegal issues.

Using his vast experience, Dr Jolly researches, evaluates and develops educational programmes. He gained his expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology, as a consultant at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust. He was also the postgraduate dean at Health Education Yorkshire and Humber from 2013 - 2016.

Dr James Thorpe
Medicolegal Consultant

Before Dr James Thorpe joined Medical Protection as a medicolegal consultant in 2014 he worked as a general and vascular surgeon. He now provides medicolegal advice and support to our UK and Ireland members.

Regularly contributing at national conferences and teaching sessions he helps doctors reduce their risk profile. Dr Thorpe is also the editor of New Doctor, Medical Protection’s online publication for foundation doctors.
