With funding models changing constantly, how would you keep abreast of these changes?

Dr Tracey Vell, Chief Executive of Manchester Local Medical Committee, discusses how GP practices can keep abreast of changes to funding models.

Transcript

Funding to general practice is always changing and it’s an area that’s really difficult to keep up on as you’re a working GP in a practice. My top tip would be to keep connected and make sure that you have a communication network. That might be either a provider group that allows you to feed into and also receive information in your locality or it might be via your local medical committee which will support the GPs in your area. Or in fact any other organisation that’s out there to help you. It’s essential that you get the information on new directives, especially investment and would ask some of the national bodies or local bodies to help GPs in the provision of this information by actually using podcasts or shorter clips by video to enable GPs the time to get the information in a quicker and more accessible way.
