A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of External Relations to join our Communications department in our London office.
As the Head of External Relations you will take the lead in promoting MPS externally to policymakers, politicians and the media. This position is integral to shaping MPS’ profile and reputation worldwide, as well as managing the development of MPS external policy positions.
As a senior member of the Communications department you will manage several teams including the Public Affairs, Policy and Media teams, and provide expert advice and guidance to MPS’ Executive and senior leadership. You will also be responsible for MPS’s external profile and authorise the release of complex media statements and press releases.
Candidates must have previous experience of external relations management strategy development, coupled with an in depth knowledge of UK Parliamentary workings. Ideally with work experience within this or other devolved bodies.
You must possess demonstrable evidence of developing and influencing policy in a commercial environment and will preferably be degree educated or CIPR certified. Experience of writing policy papers and working with government is essential. You must have great stakeholder management skills and have the ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines.
