We’re proud to have sponsored the 2020 Irish Healthcare Awards which took place on Tuesday 1 December.
During this most difficult of years, we’ve been supporting the medical community in Ireland. To help our members with the pressures they face we launched a wellbeing package, including free counselling, a wellbeing app, podcasts, webinars and more.
We’ve also offered members subscription relief to ensure that financial worries don’t add to the stress they’re already experiencing.
With this in mind, we were delighted to put our name to two awards that mean a great deal to us – Mental Health Initiative of the Year and GP of the Year.
Category: Mental Health Initiative of the Year
The worthy winner was St Patrick’s Mental Health Services for their Homecare Inpatient Service.
They successfully demonstrated an innovative programme to offer homecare services for their patients during COVID-19. This has seen them provide 286 inpatients with remote treatment in their homes since March 2020.
Category: GP of the Year
It was quite rightly felt that in a year where every GP has gone above and beyond, it would be unfair to single one individual out.
The prize was instead awarded to all GPs in Ireland.
Dr Margaret O’Riordan, President of the Irish College of General Practitioners, collected the award on behalf of all GPs in recognition of their role during the pandemic.
