Undertake an audit of all vaccines in the practice to ensure they are current and up-to-date.
2. Check protocols
Review and update your protocols where appropriate, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines.
3. Reception/waiting area
- Throw away old and damaged magazines. Check the existing policy on having magazines in the waiting area.
- Remove swine flu notices and replace them with more relevant information, eg, keeping safe in the sun, book your travel vaccinations now.
- Update the information leaflets so that they reflect the needs of that season.
4. Telephone/website
Check your telephone answer messages and update where appropriate in relation to the swine flu helpline. Take a look at your website to see if there are any changes needed in relation to staff changes, new services that you provide, or extended opening hours.
5. MPS educational talks
Don’t forget to contact your MPS GP account executive to arrange one of our three educational talks, which form part of the MPS practice package benefits.
6. Clinical Risk Self-Assessment (CRSA)
Book your CRSA from MPS if you are part of the practice80 benefits or contact MPS educational services to learn more about the additional education and risk management workshops they provide.
