UK students applying for overseas electives

For free elective protection with MPS, please complete our online elective application form. Please note, if you are applying to take your elective in Australia, you must contact our membership department first on 0845 900 0022 to ensure you have the correct indemnity arrangements in place. Calls to Membership Services may be recorded for monitoring and training purposes.

Overseas students applying for electives in the UK

If you are studying overseas but have chosen to carry out your elective in the UK, you can apply for free MPS overseas student elective membership.

Your elective must be authorised by the Dean of your university. Work should be done under the supervision of a fully qualified medical practitioner, and we will give full benefits to any work undertaken in the course of your elective whilst under this supervision or in any bona-fide emergency situation that may arise.
