Overseas Student Elective Membership

If you are studying overseas but have chosen to carry out your elective in the UK you can apply for MPS Overseas Student Elective Membership.

Please download, print and complete the application form from the right-hand side of this page and post it back to MPS.

There is no fee to pay for Overseas Student Elective Membership and you will receive your MPS membership number and documents once your application has been processed.

The Overseas Student Elective Membership is only available to students coming to the UK on a short-term visa/student exchange. If you are studying in the UK please visit the UK Medical Student Elective section of the website.

Elective Terms

Your elective must be authorised by the Dean of your university. Work should be done under the supervision of a fully qualified medical practitioner, and we will give full benefits to any work undertaken in the course of your elective whilst under this supervision or in any bona-fide emergency situation that may arise.
