DH consults on the NHS Outcomes Framework

The Department of Health (DH) has opened a consultation on how the NHS Outcomes Framework can be developed to improve health outcomes for all.

It is seeking views on:

  • The principles that should underpin the NHS Outcomes Framework 
  • A proposed structure and approach that could be used to develop the Framework 
  • How the proposed Outcomes Framework can support equality across all groups and can help reduce health inequalities 
  • How the proposed Outcomes Framework can support the necessary partnership working between public health and social care services 
  • Potential outcome indicators, including methods for selection, that could be presented in the framework.

The consultation will close on 11 October 2010.
