MPS Review
Take a look inside
While raw figures are published every year in the Annual Report and Accounts, this MPS Review provides more details of how and why we use and invest members’ funds. For instance, we opened over 10,000 cases worldwide in 2007. On page 12 we explain about the impact of a court judgment (Thompstone v Tameside and Glossop Acute Services NHS Trust) on the additional provisions we have had to make for paying future claims.
A second reason for publishing this MPS Review is to increase awareness of the breadth of service and expertise available to members. You might think that we are only here to help you in the event of a clinical negligence claim or a complaint to the GMC, but there is so much more to what we have to offer you. We are keen to share with you the many ways in which we can help with the medicolegal and ethical aspects of your practice.
