As well as our serial publications, MPS is also developing a portfolio of electronic newsletters to keep members up to date with key medicolegal news.

MPS Update

The MPS Update newsletter was first developed in 2008, and is an electronic alert that is sent out to all UK members every month. This newsletter features the latest guidance, regulatory news and patient safety updates, as well as events and a Case of the Month to help raise awareness of the medicolegal issues doctors can face on a daily basis. Launched in October 2010, the Anaesthetics Update newsletter compiles case reports, news, events and safety device alerts, to keep anaesthetists up to date with all the latest developments in their field. Read more >>

Paediatrics Update

Launched in 2011, this newsletter is designed for paediatricians and any other doctors who are often involved in managing the healthcare of children. Content includes careers advice, the most common risks in paediatrics (taken from the MPS advice line) and a case study based around a hot topic. The newsletter also features a podcast which provides advice on key paediatric issues, as well as a selection of news and events. Read more >>

Our latest newsletter, General Surgery Update, was launched in 2012 and is aimed at any doctors working in general surgery in the UK. Each edition contains some of the most important news headlines and events that we think surgeons might be interested in, as well as podcasts, features, and a selection of case reports, highlighting common pitfalls that occur in everyday practice, to help you avoid making the same mistakes. Risk Review is a free email publication produced monthly by MPS. It provides all the latest news on emerging developments in risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, employment issues and regulations and guidance.
