Introductory guide to intensive care
6 January 2006
The Intensive Care Society has published a guide to tell medical students about intensive care and what happens to patients when they are in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The society says that this information is particularly important now that more emphasis is being placed on the recognition and treatment of critically ill patients. Many Foundation programmes now include an attachment to an ICU. The guide also includes a suggested critical care curriculum for medical students and recommendations for further reading.
