Taj Hassan was elected to the Council as a non-executive director of MPS in June 2006. He has been a member of the MPS Claims Advisory Committee since 2004 and is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He is presently Vice President of the College of Emergency Medicine (CEM). He is also the national Director for E-learning for the College's ENLIGHTENme programme, an examiner for Fellowship of the CEM, and a member of the College's Safer Care Committee.
