Medical Council reviews prevocational training

The Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) is consulting on prevocational training, in association with Health Workforce New Zealand.

The consultation will consider three main areas of interest:

• The issues and drivers behind the need for change
• The purpose and objectives of the first two postgraduate years
• The key features that should be included in a prevocational training framework.

The MCNZ hopes the consultation will lead to further development of the PGY1 and PGY2 education and training framework.

The consultation will close on 22 July 2011.
