Medsafe recruiting for safety committee

The New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority (Medsafe) has four vacancies on its Medicines Adverse Reactions Committee (MARC).
It is seeking applications from doctors with:
- a minimum of five years’ experience in their field of expertise
- excellent critical appraisal skills
- a thorough knowledge of medicine.
The MARC is an independent expert advisory committee that advises the Minister of Health on medicine safety issues. Its recommendations contribute towards national patient safety guidelines and regulations.
Medsafe is urging all potential applicants to familiarise themselves with the responsibilities, expectations and terms of reference of the MARC before submitting their applications.
The closing date for applications is 22 June 2011.
