Discounts on medical books from MPS
Medical books from MPS. The MPS website offers discounts on a wide variety of medical books.
With more than 245,000 members around the world we have considerable purchasing power, and we are able to use this to negotiate some excellent discounts on medical books. This includes medical book titles from major publishers such as PasTest, Oxford University Press, Elsevier, Manson Publishing and Lippincott Williams and Wilkins.
A mutual society, MPS arranges medical book discounts as a service to members. All members can take advantage of the discounts on offer, but they may be most useful to those in the following stages of their medical career.
Student Medical Books
The discounts on medical books will prove of most interest to student members, and with that in mind we have negotiated some special offers on relevant titles. There are offers from a variety of publishers of textbooks, CD-ROMs and videos.
In addition, we offer first year students a free 128MB memory stick when they join MPS. Final year students can choose a free Oxford Handbook
MPS supports student members by providing a range of free educational materials to help with their studies. The discounts on medical books are an important part of this support.
You can see the student medical books on offer in the student section of this site.
Foundation Years Doctors
Once you start your foundation programme training you will be provided with a curriculum. You will be appraised on this during the two years. MPS has arranged discounts on medical textbooks which cover a variety of specialties and may help you with your training.
MPS medicolegal advisers have also written a CD-ROM that provides foundation year doctors with the medicolegal information that is essential for their first years of practice.
Books for GP Registrars
We have negotiated discounts on a range of medical books of interest to GP Registrars. It includes the popular handbook The New GP Survival Guide.
