Warning over unqualified sinsehs

System abuse has been blamed for the huge number of unqualified Chinese physicians (sinsehs) currently registered in Malaysia, according to the New Straits Times.

For it has been found that two out of three sinsehs are lacking in the proper qualifications, heightening fears over inaccurate diagnoses and unsafe prescribing.

The Federation of Chinese Physicians and Medicine Dealers Association of Malaysia has blamed abuse of the registration system for the problem, saying that the associations charged with monitoring registration have been recruiting unqualified members in return for payment.

The number of sinsehs in Malaysia has now risen to over 7,000.
