MMA questions exclusion on registration
17 Sep 2007
The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) has criticised the Road Transport Department for excluding it from a new doctor registration scheme, reports the Malaysian National News Agency.
The department has instead appointed a third party to register doctors under the eKesihatan (eHealth) scheme – a new system designed to ensure only medically-fit drivers are behind the wheel of commercial vehicles.
MMA president Datuk Dr Khoo Kah Lim said it was not wise to exclude the MMA from such a scheme, and that there was no reason for doctors registered with the Malaysian Medical Council to undergo a re-registration process.
