Borderline and unusual requests for assistance
Unusual circumstances
Members sometimes come up against problems that are out of the ordinary. We cannot anticipate every possible problem that members may experience, so the 'Core benefits of membership' list is not exhaustive. Our guiding ethos is that we are here to help, so do not assume we would be unwilling to help you just because you have encountered a problem that is atypical. Ask us first.
The following are examples of problems that occur infrequently, or that warrant detailed consideration as to whether to exercise the discretion to assist. MPS Council would consider each borderline request for assistance on its merits, balancing the individual member’s needs against their responsibility to use members’ funds wisely and in the interests of the membership as a whole.
