Foreign doctors receive full registration

Specialist doctors from outside the EU will be recognised by the state, the government has announced.

The system of temporary registration will be replaced by a new register, which will include sections on specialist qualifications and training.

Minister for Health Mary Harney said the registration process would be more streamlined to account for the skills of independent practitioners.
