FOI doctor checks reviewed in 2009

Changes to the Medical Practitioner’s Bill to keep doctors' information confidential will be reviewed in two years.
The Act was amended to ensure that details of doctors participation in competence assurance were exempt from the Freedom of Information Act, to keep it secure.
The Office of the Information Commissioner has told the Irish Medical News that all FOI legislation will be looked at in two years.
