HSE issues new guidance on swine flu
21 Sep 2009
The Health Service Executive (HSE) has updated its guidance on treating patients with swine flu. The guidance has been developed in association with the Department of Health and Children (DoHC), to monitor all new cases of influenza A/H1N1.
The HSE assures medical professionals in Ireland that it has adequate systems in place to deal with the situation, and that it has access to stocks of antiviral drugs that can be used to treat the virus.
Health professionals are advised to visit the Health Protection Surveillance Centre's website for up-to-date guidance and advice on how to diagnose and treat suspected cases of swine flu.
