How we provide our members with protection

MPS remains an entirely mutual organisation, and is in a strong financial position. This means we are able to offer, what we believe to be, the best protection for our members. MPS offers discretionary, occurrence-based membership to individual members in Ireland and the UK.

Medicine changes frequently and so does the law. We believe insurance contracts are too inflexible to adequately protect the needs of doctors and that they work for the benefit of the companies offering them rather than the doctors they are supposed to protect. The fact that we offer occurrence-based membership means that should you choose to leave MPS for any reason there is no need to purchase run-off cover, as you might need to with a claims-made insurance product.
