Karen James

Membership Agent, Jamaica

Karen James became an SRN in Central Middlesex Hospital, London, and an SCM in Paisley Maternity Hospital, Scotland. Karen also gained psychiatric experience through a placement at the Royal Liff Hospital in Scotland.

From 1971-1980, Karen held a number of Staff Nurse positions in London and Jamaica, before opening and running a children's nursery. She is also a member of the Jamaica Cancer Society.

Since joining MPS in 2003, Karen has taken on a number of responsibilities, including managing all aspects of MPS membership matters at student, graduate and post graduate levels in Jamaica. She is also the first point of contact for members with queries regarding medicolegal and related matters. Karen handles all aspects of local subscription management, and is responsible for making local arrangements for visits by MPS personnel.
