Heart of the profession

Right from the beginning, MPS has played a key role in maintaining the integrity of the medical profession. In the early days, this took the form of rooting out and prosecuting unqualified practitioners and exposing quacks.

Concern for the well-being of the medical profession (and now allied healthcare professionals) has continued to occupy us over the years. Nowadays, we fight different sorts of battles on behalf of the profession, but these are no less important for that.

In addition to our educational programmes for healthcare professionals, we are active in the political sphere, bringing our influence to bear where it is needed to enhance healthcare delivery or to oppose proposals that we consider to be detrimental.
