Electives in Australia

The Australian Government introduced new medical indemnity legislation on 1 July 2003, stipulating that all health care practitioners (including students) must be covered by an insurance contract provided by a regulated insurer.

As MPS is not an insurance company we have made arrangements with MIPS (Medical Indemnity Protection Society) to cover UK students electives whilst in Australia. Please call the Student Membership Helpline on 0845 900 0022 to ensure you have the correct elective protection in place.
