Protect your past with MPS

If you would like to transfer your professional protection to MPS from your current medical defence organisation (MDO) or insurance provider, but are concerned about how any medicolegal problems relating to previous incidents might be handled, we can help.

(Depending on the nature of your current protection arrangements, you may not need retrospective membership with MPS. Our membership advisers (08457 187 187) would be very happy to discuss the nature of MPS membership and your past protection arrangements with you to allow you to make an informed choice.)

For a small fee, you won't have to rely on your previous indemnifier. As long as you stay with us for the next three years you'll benefit from access to expert support and advice from MPS should any medicolegal problems come to light as a result of any incidents that have occurred in the past five years.

Cost

The current MPS subscription rate for an SpR is £290. For an extra £100, to be paid by direct debit in each of the first three years of MPS membership - a total additional payment of £300 over three years - you can benefit from MPS retrospective membership. This will give you the added peace of mind of knowing you can seek assistance from MPS with any medicolegal problems that come to light as a result of incidents that occurred at any time during the five years before your membership started whilst you were a member of another MDO or insurance provider.

If you would like to protect your previous practice with MPS, simply complete the declaration form (on the right-hand side) and submit it with your completed application form. All we ask is that you complete the three years' membership required and pay the supplementary fee.
